Problem
Sushi restaurants often do not have their menu directly available on their websites. If it is, it isn’t very intuitive and most often it’s a screenshot of the printed menu and/or sushi restaurants mostly connect their menus via third party apps such as GrubHub, Uber Eats, etc.
Solution
Design a diagnostic menu that is both responsive and visually appealing.
Persona
Henri
Age: 39
Education: MSc. in Psychology
Occupation: Therapist
Hometown: Boston, MA
Henri is a 39 year old counselor who lives with his wife and 2 dogs in downtown Boston. He works during the day and on days he works late, he usually prefers sushi as a reward for a hard day’s work. So he looks at the menu for the local sushi restaurant and places the order via phone to be delivered to their house.
Problem Statement
Henri is a busy counselor who needs to view the local sushi menu and place his order via phone before leaving his workplace because he needs it to arrive at the same time he gets home so he can have dinner.
User Journey Map
A user journey map of Henri using the website to identify possible pain points.
Sitemap
Ease of navigation was the primary goal in creating this sitemap.
Additionally, creating a strategic information architecture designs that would improve overall website navigation.
Digital Wireframes
Prioritizing useful button locations and visual element placement on the homepage was a key part of my strategy.
Low Fidelity Prototype
To create a lo-fi, I connected all of the screens involved in the primary user flow of navigating the website.

Final thoughts
Personally, this project has helped me learn how much I can improve in UX/UI.
As far as the design process, this project has helped me understand that simplicity is best. I was initially drawn to attractive, out of the box designs, but remembered that the primary goal is to understand the users, their problems, and to create a design that helps solve them.
